What are the installation criteria of VIOMI under sink?
- The water purifier is designed to operate with an inlet water pressure between 0.1MPa and 0.4MPa. If the inlet water pressure exceeds 0.4MPa, it is recommended to install a pressure-reducing valve. If the pressure is below 0.1MPa, a booster pump should be installed.
- The overall dimensions of the machine (length*width*height) are 418* 142 *363 mm.
- There needs to be a power socket (3 hole 220V AC socket x 2) within 1 meter of the installed cabinet, and the exposed power cord is about 1.6 meters
- Holes need to be drilled on stainless steel sinks or acrylic countertops. For other types of countertops (such as marble or ceramic), drill the holes in advance with a diameter of Ø 25 ~ 30 mm.
- It is strictly prohibited to install it in an outdoor environment.

What are the basis principle of Viomi undersink water purifiers?
- Viomi has 2 filter elements:
i) 5in1 composite filter element (folded PP + activated carbon + scale inhibitor + bamboo charcoal + non-woven fabric)
ii) RO filter element; - Smart faucet: instant heat in 1 second, no reheating of overnight water; 180-degree rotation of the faucet; ambient pure water flow rate 1000G; multiple modes of temperature and cup volume selection and adjustment, the temperature is adjustable LED large screen intelligent display, touch buttons.
- Flow capacity: 1000G ambient pure water flow 2.5L/min,
Does Viomi under sink water purifier need to be flushed after replacing the filter?
- Yes, When the faucet is powered on again, it will be flushed with ambient water for 60 seconds and hot water pipes for 10 seconds. The program will run automatically and the faucet will display a countdown.
- If the above procedure cannot be carried out, it is recommended to turn on the faucet every 2 hours for 20 minutes to allow water to flow and drain. Repeat this process more than 12 times to ensure the water taste is fully optimized.
- After replacing the 5-in-1 composite filter element and resetting the system, turn on the water supply and rinse for 15 minutes.
NOTE: When replacing multiple filters, perform the longest flush.
What are the three PE pipes behind Viomi water purifier, and what are their length?
- Among the three pipes at the back, two are white and one is grey. The white pipe is the water inlet pipe (connected to the tap water three-way valve), the other white pipe is the pure water pipe (connected to the faucet), and the grey pipe is the waste water pipe (discharge). for wastewater, each pipe has a label on it.
The length is 2meter .
Why is there a small amount of bubbles and black water when using for the first time ?
- When using the water purifier for the first time, the air in the machine (including the filter element and pipeline) must be purged before water can flow properly.
- Therefore, the water produced for the first time will have a small amount of bubbles.
- After extended use, this issue will resolve. Additionally, the granular activated carbon rod filter element may release small amounts of carbon powder during transportation. When used for the first time, this carbon powder will be flushed out along with the pure water and concentrated water, resulting in a small amount of black water.
Does the filter element need to be replaced? How often should it be replaced?
- The lifespan of the water purifier's filter is determined by an integrated algorithm that takes into account factors such as the volume of water processed, usage time, and water flow rate.
- When the filter is unsealed and watered, the shelf life of the filter will decrease over time. If it is not used for a certain day, the water stored in the filter does not flow, and the stored water in the filter will deteriorate.
For example, if you're away from home or on a business trip for an extended period, it's recommended to first close the three-way ball valve, then open the faucet to drain the water until it stops flowing. Afterward, turn off the power to the water purifier. When you return and are ready to use the machine again, it's best to open the faucet and run water for at least 10 minutes to flush and clean the system
- The recommended replacement cycle of 5in1 filter element is not more than 12 months
- The recommended replacement cycle of RO filter element is not more than 36 months
Why does the water from the water purifier appear milky white?
- The milky white colour is bubbles dissolved in water.
- When tap water is transported under pressure through the tap water pipe network, under the action of pressure, the solubility of the gases in the pipe network and the gases in the atmosphere increases in the water, and a large amount is dissolved in the tap water; while the tap water is still filtered by the reverse osmosis membrane. It must be pressurized by a water pump to increase power. While the water pump pressurizes the water body, it also increases the pressure on the gas dissolved in the water body, further increasing the solubility of the gas.
- When gases pass through the reverse osmosis membrane, they are broken into smaller bubbles. Due to the pressure inside the system, these bubbles can’t escape. When the water flows out and the pressure drops, the bubbles expand and appear as tiny, visible bubbles, making the water look milky white. This happens in both pure and concentrated water. It’s a normal physical occurrence and doesn’t affect the quality of the water.
Why does the APP show that there are records from yesterday when I installed it today?
- The water purifier adopts the strategy of counting the total water consumption of the device. Before the device is connected to the Internet, the time of the device cannot be synchronized with the online server time.
- Water usage records prior to connecting to the internet are grouped under the previous day's records. So, if the user installs the device today, the app may show water usage from yesterday. Please note, this is normal.
How to install the filter element of the water purifier?
- Filter element installation is divided into four steps:
I. Cut the filter packaging bag and take out the filter from the package
II. Gently place the filter element into the corresponding filter element barrel , then press and rotate 90 degrees clockwise
III. Turn on the power, rinse for 2 hours, then close the faucet and let it sit for 2 hours, then rinse with normal water for 30 minutes, then you can use it normally .
The height of my cabinet seems not enough. Can the machine be placed flat?
- Considering that the water purifier cannot be placed flat due to the particularity of its internal water system. Only upright installation is possible.
Why is the water output small at first and then gradually increasing?
- There is a process of starting the booster pump to stabilize. This process takes several seconds, so the water volume of the machine is relatively small in the first few seconds .
Can’t connect to WIFI
When the water purifier cannot be connected to the Internet (Wi-Fi), please confirm the following first:
I. Confirm whether the mobile phone is connected to Wi-Fi and can access the Internet normally;
II. If the machine has not been connected to the Internet for a long time (more than one hour) and found that the machine's Wifi is offline, press the "Select" and "Reset" buttons of the machine until the Wi-fi status light turns orange and flashes, and then reconnect to the water purifier Wifi;
III. Whether the WiFi password entered when connecting the device is correct;
IV. Whether the Wi -Fi hotspot uses encryption methods such as WEP or EAP 802.1x, please try changing to WPA/WPA2 encryption method;
V. If too many devices are connected to the router, causing the network to be slow or the router to become unresponsive, you can try restarting the router;
VI. Router Wi -Fi hotspots are recommended to be named in English; the password should not contain characters other than letters and numbers (such as %, -, _, etc.);
VII. Re-download the “VIOMI" APP from the App Store and try the connection again
VIII. The distance from the router is too long, there are many obstacles, and the signal is insufficient. Especially in the corners of kitchen cabinets, the signal will be relatively poor. In addition, closing the metal cabinets will also have a greater impact. It is recommended to use other mobile phones as hotspots to try to connect;
IX. Please check whether the router firewall settings are turned off.
*Before reconnecting each time, please press and hold the WIFI button to reset the machine until the WIFI status light turns orange and flashes before reconnecting.
Why is there the sound of the motor rotating when making water?
- In order to achieve instant filtering and drinking of fresh water and avoid secondary contamination of the water storage barrel, the Viomi water purifier requires a large amount of water, so it needs a high-power water purification booster pump to pressurize the incoming water, so it has a motor.
- The sound of turning. This sound is the combined sound of the motor, diaphragm pressurization and water flow during the boosting process of the pump.
- (The machine is placed on a stable table to remove ambient sounds. The sound tester is placed 1 meter away from the machine and the test does not exceed 65 decibels. The sound emitted by the Viomi water purifier during operation is relatively low in the industry)
Unable to detect when filter element is not installed.
The water purifier lacks the necessary hardware to detect if the filter element is properly installed. If the filter element is either not installed or not installed correctly, it may cause the machine to malfunction or the app to display errors. The user can resolve this by properly and fully reinstalling the filter element.
After unpacking the newly purchased water purifier, there is water flowing out of the water outlet of the main unit. Does it affect its use?
The water purifier undergoes a complete online water inspection, followed by disinfection and sterilization, before being vacuum-sealed for shipment. A small amount of water remaining at the outlet of the main unit is normal and does not impact its performance.
After the machine has been used for a period of time, open the faucet and water will flow out for a while, then stop for about 2 seconds. Why does the water increase from small to large and finally stabilize?
- The machine relies on a booster pump to increase water pressure for normal water discharge. After opening the faucet, the booster pump requires a brief response time, so it may take a few seconds for the water to flow steadily.
- After the machine has been in use for a while, certain impurities may accumulate in the filter element, which can obstruct water flow if the booster pump hasn't fully activated.
